The castle, whose mechanism was known long before the Roman Empire, symbolizes the preservation of secrets. Thus, the small respectable construct looks back on a long history and has been interpreted and described literarily in many ways. The first combination lock therefore only saw the light of day in the 19th century. However, the template for it is based on Giovanni da Fontana's alphabet lock, which was developed as early as 1420.
Inspired by the world bestseller "Da Vinci Code", the brand UGEARS® developed a cryptex made of high-quality wood. Like all steampunk models of the premium manufacturer, the present combination lock is also oriented to the style of retrofuturism and is, like the film template itself, thus a small highly respectable work of art. Besides the code lock, which can be equipped with its own code, the cavity inside is a place full of secrets. To reveal these is a mystery that the Kryptex is reluctant to give away. Placed in the display case, the combination lock consisting of 34 components awaits the solution to its riddle, which only time is able to decipher.
