In the city of Waterdeep, there is a tavern called the "Yawning Portal," named after the gaping hole in its common room. At the bottom of this crumbling shaft lies a labyrinthine dungeon that only the bravest adventurers dare to enter. This dungeon is known as Undermountain and is the domain of the mad wizard Halaster Blackcloak. The insane mage has long dwelt in these forsaken depths, outfitting his refuge with monsters, traps, and mysteries - for what purpose, that is a constant source of speculation and concern.
This adventure picks up right where Waterdeep: Dragon Heist ends and takes characters from level 5 to level 20, should they explore Halaster's entire refuge. 23 levels of Undermountain are detailed here, along with the subterranean haven of Skullport. Treasures and secrets abound, but be careful!
