In the epic campaign Children of Fear, the investigators follow the trail of the Chinese Buddhist monk Xuanzang, whose famous expedition was later immortalized in the fantastical saga Journey to the West. Their path leads from China through Central Asia and Northern India to the remote regions of hidden Tibet.
On their dangerous journey, the investigators encounter foreign cultures, ancient traditions, and secrets whose origins may reach far beyond human understanding. For the followers of the so-called King of Fear are pursuing a sinister plan: they want to open the gates to his city and unleash their master upon the world once more, so that he may reshape reality according to his own vision.
The campaign consists of eight extensive chapters and offers the game master numerous options for individually adapting its course and atmosphere. The connection to the Cthulhu Mythos can also be shaped flexibly – from a supernatural journey full of spiritual mysteries to a cosmic horror scenario in which incomprehensible powers lurk behind ancient legends.
